Advisory Board

Special Projects Advisor

The Special Projects Advisor will provide focused and tactical efforts on Illini Service Dogs project-based initiatives at the advisory board level. Special Projects Advisor will work directly with the Chief Project Officer, Training Leads, and Executive Board to identify and execute projects essential to internal organization development. Additionally, they will work closely with a wide variety of volunteers, including those on the Administrative Board, Executive Board, Advisory Board, and Primary Handlers. This is a volunteer position that will reside within the Advisory Board.

External Affairs Advisor

The External Affairs Advisor is essential to the establishment and management of relationships between Illini Service Dogs and external partners, donors, organizations and more. This position will work closely with a wide variety of volunteers, including those on the Administrative Board, Executive Board, Advisory Board, and Primary Handlers, as well as individuals or businesses that support the organization The External Affairs advisor will report mainly to the CEO. This is a volunteer position that will reside within the Advisory Board.

Marketing Advisor

The Marketing Advisor is essential to the Illini Service Dogs organization by providing leadership oversight and direction to public relations, public affairs, marketing, and social media factors of our organization. This position will work closely with a wide variety of volunteers, including those on the Administrative Board, Executive Board, Advisory Board, and Primary Handlers. The Marketing Advisor will report directly to the Chief Information Officer. This is a volunteer position that will reside within the Advisory Board.

Training Advisor

The Training Advisor serves as a member of the advisory board, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of their assigned dog team(s). This position works closely with members of the administrative board, other Training Advisors, and with all members of that dog team. The Training Advisor is expected to collaborate with the Team Lead, Primary handler, and all secondary handlers. Through frequent contact with the entire team, the Training Advisor oversees and progresses the dog’s general behavior and skills training. The purpose of this position is to ensure the dog is on track to graduate from the Illini Service Dog program. This is a volunteer position.

Philanthropy Advisor

The purpose of the Philanthropy Advisor position is to collaborate on the development and execution of fundraising efforts for the Illini Service Dogs (ISD) organization. This position works with members of the Executive, Advisory, and Administrative board to effectively coordinate efforts. The Philanthropy Advisor is expected to seek out fundraising opportunities, collaborate with the Executive board and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to identify and apply for grants and maintain donor relationships. This is a volunteer position on Illini Service Dogs’ advisory board, and reports directly to the CFO. Advisory board positions do not maintain voting rights but advisor input is highly sought out on a continual basis for all business matters.

Chief Project Officer

The Chief Project Officer will provide project management oversight and is essential to the strategic goals of the Illini Service Dogs organization at the administrative level. The CPO will manage top level projects crucial to supporting the mission of Illini Service Dogs. Additionally, they directly collaborate with the Special Projects Advisor to maintain continuity and improvement of Illini Service Dogs project-based initiatives at the advisory level. This position will work closely with a wide variety of volunteers, including those on the Administrative Board, Executive Board, Advisory Board, and Primary Handlers. This is a volunteer position that will reside within the Board of Directors, and assume voting rights.
